Beamit kan både modtage og sende bluetooth lyd. Hvilket vil sige at den fx kan sende lyd fra tv eller computer til flere trådløse headphones eller modtage lyd fra smartphones til gammelt anlæg. Den modtager og sender mini jack og digitalt optisk.
